O infinitivo é a forma base do verbo. Ele nomeia a ação sem marcar pessoa ou tempo. Em português, muitos infinitivos terminam em -ar, -er ou -ir.
The infinitive is the base form of the verb. It names the action without marking person or tense. In Portuguese, many infinitives end in -ar, -er, or -ir.
Os verbos regulares no infinitivo seguem três grupos. A terminação mostra a forma do verbo no infinitivo.
Regular verbs in the infinitive follow three groups. The ending shows the form of the verb in the infinitive.

O infinitivo não muda com a pessoa. O presente muda conforme a pessoa e o número. Assim, falar é infinitivo, mas falo e fala são formas conjugadas.
The infinitive does not change with person. The present tense changes according to person and number. Therefore, to speak is the infinitive, but I speak and he speaks are conjugated forms.

Alguns verbos podem vir antes de outro verbo no infinitivo. Isso acontece em estruturas simples com gostar, querer e poder. O segundo verbo fica no infinitivo.
Some verbs can come before another verb in the infinitive. This happens in simple structures with liking, wanting and being able. The second verb stays in the infinitive.
