Onde

Quando
"Quando" pergunta sobre tempo e espera uma resposta com data, hora, período ou circunstância temporal. Ele pode introduzir perguntas diretas ou perguntas indiretas em declarações. Por quê
"Por quê" pergunta pelo motivo ou causa de um fato e busca uma explicação como resposta. Em português escrito, "por quê" aparece com acento quando vem isolado ou no final da pergunta, e "porque" sem acento é a forma usada para respostas ou explicações. "Por que" junto ao verbo normalmente introduz a pergunta e se escreve separado, pois equivale a "por qual razão". A distinção ortográfica ajuda a marcar pergunta versus explicação, mas a função comunicativa é pedir uma razão.
