L’adjectif interrogatif sert à poser une question sur un nom. Il accompagne ce nom et il donne une demande précise sur une identité, une qualité, une quantité ou un choix. En français, la forme la plus fréquente est quel. Cet adjectif se place avant le nom.
The interrogative adjective is used to ask a question about a noun. It accompanies the noun and specifies a particular identity, a quality, a quantity, or a choice. In French, the most common form is quel. This adjective is placed before the noun.
Quel change selon le genre et le nombre du nom qu’il accompagne. L’accord se fait avec le nom, pas avec la personne qui parle. On utilise donc une forme différente pour un nom masculin singulier, féminin singulier, masculin pluriel ou féminin pluriel.
Quel changes according to the gender and number of the noun it accompanies. The agreement is made with the noun, not with the speaker. Therefore, a different form is used for a masculine singular noun, a feminine singular, a masculine plural or a feminine plural.

L’adjectif interrogatif s’accorde toujours avec le nom qui vient après lui. Si le nom est visible, l’accord est simple. Dans certaines tournures, surtout avec être, des locuteurs hésitent parfois entre l’accord avec le nom exprimé et une autre interprétation de la question, mais l’accord dépend normalement du nom accompagné.
Interrogative adjectives always agree with the noun that follows them. If the noun is visible, the agreement is straightforward. In some constructions, especially with être, speakers may hesitate between agreeing with the stated noun and another reading of the question, but the agreement normally depends on the noun it accompanies.
