Qué son

Un sustantivo contable nombra algo que puede contarse como una unidad. Por eso puede aparecer en singular y en plural. Incontables

Los sustantivos incontables no suelen usarse con números directos ni con el artículo indefinido en singular. Se usan para hablar de cantidad no dividida en unidades. Para contarlos, normalmente se necesita una unidad o una medida.

Uncountable nouns are not usually used with direct numbers or with the indefinite article in the singular. They are used to talk about amounts not divided into units. To count them, you normally need a unit or a measure.

Artículos

Con sustantivos contables en singular, se usan artículos indefinidos como un y una. En plural, se habla de varias unidades con el plural del sustantivo. Con sustantivos incontables, el artículo indefinido singular no suele usarse cuando se habla de la sustancia en general.

Plural regular
