Singular y plural

El número nominal indica si un sustantivo nombra una sola persona, animal, cosa o idea, o más de una. El singular se usa para una unidad. El plural se usa para dos o más unidades. En español, el número aparece en el sustantivo y también en las palabras que lo acompañan.

Final en vocal

Los sustantivos que terminan en vocal forman el plural con -s. Esta regla se usa con las vocales a, e, i, o y u. El singular cambia solo al añadir esa letra final.

Cambios ortográficos

Concordancia

El número del sustantivo debe coincidir con el artículo y con el adjetivo. Si el sustantivo está en singular, las palabras que lo acompañan también van en singular. Si el sustantivo está en plural, esas palabras también van en plural. Esta relación se llama concordancia de número.
